Are you aware of the grant-funding options that are available to you as an employer?
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the UK government has introduced a range of incentives for employers to ease the cost of recruiting and training employees. This includes grant incentives for new staff and apprentices, wage grants for new employees (aged 16-24 years old) and even grants for allowing a young person to gain work experience with your business.
These 3 Government-incentivised schemes include:
Traineeships - Claim £1,000 per person up to a maximum of £10,000 per organisation for allowing a 19-23 year old to gain work experience within your business.
Kickstart Scheme - Recruit a 16 - 24 year old onto this scheme and receive a grant of up to £1,500 per person. In addition to the grant, the government will also pay the wages of the employee for 25 hours per week for 6 months.
Apprenticeships - Claim £3,000 - £5,000 per person for all new apprentices you employ. You can also put all existing members of staff onto an apprenticeship program to help them upskill or gain a recognised qualification.
