Through this Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification, you can benefit from developing your skills and knowledge as a teaching assistant in a school environment. This course is delivered as a hybrid of face-to-face tutor support, online workshops and eLearning content, allowing you to work at your pace. Once you achieve your diploma, you will be fully prepared to work in an educational setting with children and young people, including those with learning disabilities and with special educational needs.

This diploma is Awarded by NCFE Cache, who are the UK specialist organisation for children and adult care, and is recognised by employers. Once completed you could progress onto a Level 4 Higher Level Teaching Assistant course and further develop your skills.

Pre-requisite

In order to successfully complete this qualification, every student must participate in real work experience.  It is recommended that your placement, or job role, will allow between 50 hours at a minimum. This placement can be either paid or voluntary, so long as it provides the necessary evidence that the student needs to pass the course and allows the learner to demonstrate their practice over a period of time.

 

Course Objectives

This course, delivered by Real Skills, allows students of all ages and abilities to benefit from practical, hands-on experience within the a school environment to build on your skills and knowledge they need to excel. Applying for this Level 3 diploma, you will enhance your skills and knowledge and as part of the course you will focus on:

  • Preparing to work in an educational setting with children and young people, including those with learning disabilities and with special educational needs.

  • The knowledge needed to collaborate with colleagues in preparing lessons and deliver planned activities in a safe, supportive, and structured way.

  • Principles of safeguarding, inclusivity, developing positive relationships with children and young people to the importance of communication, including those with differing and/or special needs.

  • The knowledge needed to collaborate with colleagues in preparing lessons and deliver planned activities in a safe, supportive, and structured way.

How long will the course take to complete?

The course has been assigned approximately 310 guided learning hours. You should reasonably expect the course to take you 9-12 months to complete, although the course can be completed faster if you are able to dedicate more time to your studies assuming you complete the minimum of 50 placement hours within a school environment.
